They head to the beach, stripping naked and swimming in the night-time surf. He visits the seaside bar where he first met Jim, and re-encounters Kenny, who flirts drunkenly with him. ![]() ![]() He goes to dinner with his friend Charlotte, a fellow British expatriate who has been abandoned by her lover and adult son, and laments that she and George could never be a real couple.
