Pizan's book is written in the classic tradition. They tell her that they are preparing to build a city entirely for women, reminiscent of the Amazon cities of the Greek tradition. Their names are Lady Reason, Lady Rectitude, and Lady Justice. Suddenly three women - muses - appear before her.
